Therapy Services

Person-centred Counselling:

One of the hallmarks of the Person-centred therapy services is that it views each individual of owning an innate tendency for change and personal growth. But, as with flowers, if we find ourselves in unfavorable conditions, our growth can become stunted, or molded by others into something that doesn’t fit with who we really are as a person.

That’s where I come in: To provide a more nurturing environment through fostering a warm, empathetic relationship in which you can feel safe to be free and Bloom with Grace. Like re-potting flower into fresh soil, with the right amount of light and water. With that, the flower has its own innate tendency to grow tall and strong. From this safe and secure base, we can begin to explore the external influences in your life, and begin to weed out those that are unhelpful, or which hold you back from achieving our full potential.

It is all too common for us to get stuck in our emotions left over from something in the past, or use more “acceptable” ones to cover the most helpful ones. I’ll help you pay closer attention to your emotions as they’re experienced in session. This includes looking closely at how they are felt in the body, using a focusing-orientated approach, in reach the important messages our emotions try to share with us: Such as what is important for us right now; what we need, or what action to take.

For me, it is important to take the time to really understand life as it is experienced uniquely by you. Meaning I don’t listen out for buzzwords like anxiety or depression, and presume to know what the answer will be. I appreciate that we all experience such challenges to our mental well-being differently, and aim to help you fully understand it for yourself so we can find the areas in life you find yourself feeling stuck in.

Session info:

I offer a free 30 min consultation. This gives us an opportunity to get to know each other a little more. I’ll take some time to learn more about what you’re bringing to the sessions, and what you would like to get from therapy; as well as what some of your personal preferences for the way in which we work together might be, if any. For you, it’s an opportunity to ask questions about what’s on offer, my experience, or way of working; along with a chance to get a sense of what we’d be like working together.

Beyond the initial consultation, I offer individual sessions of 60mins based on a sliding scale. The scale is currently set between £15 and £45 per session. We will discuss what feels affordable to you based on your current circumstances.

Covid-19: At the moment, I am only able to offer online sessions via telephone or a video chat service such as Zoom or similar.

Trauma Informed:

Trauma comes in many forms. Its impacts can be devastating and life-shattering to you, and those closet to you. No matter how long ago it happened, it leaves its mark and the body does not forget. My trauma-informed approach can help you understand trauma’s effects on our body, and begin managing the often overwhelming legacy left behind, through body-based grounding techniques. Check out the Resources & Signposting section to learn more about Trauma, as well as positive coping skills!

Safe and Sound Protocol

SSP is a unique, non-invasive music therapy designed to rest your nervous system, helping you to connect with yourself and a sense of safety.

This 5 hour program will gradually help to reduce stress whilst enhancing your resilience, and ability to socially engage with others. The specially treated music works to stimulate middle ear muscles, and train the neural network
associated with listening to focus on the frequency envelope of human speech.

You’ll find you are better able to interpret not only the meaning, but also the intent, in conversations. And the sense of safety that is achieved by better understanding the fluctuations in human voice calms your physiological state. Once the nervous system is better balanced, further social connection is enhanced, further therapy is accelerated, and behavioral regulation is improved.

You can learn more about the Safe and Sound Protocol here

The SSP interrupts chronic states of nervous system defense by stimulating the neural networks associated with listening.
The SSP uses algorithmically filtered music focused on the frequency range of the human voice that alters the way sounds are interpreted.
This ushers the nervous system out of a defensive (fight, flight or freeze) state and into a socially engaged (ventral vagal) state.

Session Info

The SSP is traditionally delivered in 5, one hour sessions, across a 5 consecutive days period. Some people respond with greater sensitivity to the program, therefore a slower paced program may be better suited. We work together to be understand how your nervous system responds to the environment and the program. Through this collaborative process, I will be alongside you on each step of the journey to adjust the schedule to suit your needs and provide on going support.

Individual sessions are expected to range between 30-mins or 1-hour.

A free 30 minute consultation is available where we can explore any questions or queries you might have regarding the SSP

Sessions are then subsequently charged at £40-£60 per hour.

*For block booking, a 20% deposit of the total price is required in order to secure the calendar.

Booking & Cancellation policy:

I ask for a minimum of 24hrs notice if you need to cancel a session for any reason. Any payments made upfront can be fully refunded.
